Richard James, AICP, Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary with EMC Planning Group Inc.!

July 8th, 2008—Monterey, CA. The environmental and land use planning firm of EMC Planning Group Inc. (EMC) is excited to announce Richard James' 10th anniversary with the firm. A Principal Planner with EMC, he has played an integral part in the growth and success of the firm.

In the past 10 years, Richard has been involved in countless projects, in numerous cities and counties, and has helped shape many communities. Some of the more noteworthy projects he has worked on include the Seaside Highlands Environmental Impact Report (EIR), Seaside Resort EIR, Rancho Roberto EIR, Soledad Zoning Ordinance, Los Banos Community Design Standards, and the Transportation Agency for Monterey County's Bicycle Map Update. Richard has also assisted numerous cities as municipal staff including the City of Seaside and City of Los Banos.

Currently, Richard is working on the Los Banos Community Design Standards, which will establish development standards for new projects within Los Banos. The design standards aim to preserve the city’s small town feel, and address aesthetics, energy conservation, walkability, and other issues through the design of buildings, sites, and neighborhoods. Richard looks forward to assisting communities throughout California achieve livable and sustainable development.
