EMC Planning Group Inc. Receives Green Business Certification!

September 1, 2008—Monterey, CA. The environmental and land use planning firm of EMC Planning Group Inc. (EMC) is proud to announce that it is Monterey County's FIRST land use planning firm to receive the Green Business Certification by the Monterey Bay Area Green Business Program. The program is a partnership of environmental agencies, utilities, and nonprofit organizations that assist, recognize, and promote businesses that volunteer to operate in a more environmentally responsible way.

EMC has been in business for 30 years and has always strived to be environmentally conscious. Even before green business practices were popular, EMC and its employees made a commitment to be environmental stewards and to reduce its environmental footprint. Part of that commitment involves printing documents on recycled paper, upgrading lighting systems to reduce energy usage, and recycling waste.

Being certified as a GREEN BUSINESS means passing a long list of criteria developed by the Monterey Bay Area Green Business Program. Fortunately for EMC and its sustainability efforts, EMC only had to make some minor adjustments to meet all of the criteria.
