Christine Bradley Promoted to Associate Planner

EMC is pleased to announce Christine Bradley has been promoted to Associate Planner. Christine has been with EMC for over two years and is a valued member of the team.

She holds a B.A. in International Relations with an emphasis on Environmental and Global Health at the University of California at Davis, and an M.A. in International Environmental Policy from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.

Celebrates 8 Years with EMC

EMC is pleased to announce Ron Sissem's eight year anniversary with the firm. Ron, a Principal Planner, is an integral part of the firm. Ron has over 20 years of interdisciplinary technical and project management experience in the field of land use and environmental planning and natural resource management both domestically and internationally.

His experience enables a multi-faceted understanding of the technical, social, economic, and environmental issues that affect urban/regional planning and environmental analysis. Ron provides project management leadership for the firm’s larger scale advance planning, entitlement management, and CEQA projects. He also spearheads EMC's climate change services by assisting public agencies and private sector clients with climate change planning and mitigation strategies, policy, and project design.

EMC Planning Group Inc. Completes Design Standards

EMC prepared design standards for commercial and residential development within the City of Los Banos. The standards present specific direction for commercial development within the downtown area, the City’s two highway corridors, and most other commercial areas within the City. Several special design areas are set aside to be addressed as future specific plans are prepared. [Read the story]

Municipal Staff Support

EMC has a long history of providing staff support services to cities, counties, and special districts. Services include project management and application processing; preparation of notices, staff reports, conditions of approval, resolutions, ordinances, and findings; public outreach; and agency coordination. EMC can also prepare standard conditions of approval, document formats, operating guidelines, such as CEQA implementation guidelines and thresholds of significance, and special studies such as vacant land inventories, LAFCo sphere updates, and fee nexus studies.

For nearly four years EMC has provided staff support services to the City of Los Banos Planning Department. Working both on- and off-site, EMC managed over 40 projects for the City including annexation, general plan amendment, zone change, major subdivision, planned development, and site plan review applications. San Miguel Canyon Road/Castroville Boulevard Intersection Improvements CEQA Compliance, Monterey County Public Works Department

Las Lomas Bike Path CEQA Compliance

EMC prepared an initial study, mitigated negative declaration, and CEQA noticing for a proposed road widening project in Monterey County. The project consists of roadway widening and striping improvements to an approximately 0.75 mile long segment of San Miguel Canyon Road, widening and restriping of an approximately 0.14 mile long segment of Castroville Boulevard near its intersection with San Miguel Canyon Road, and signalization of the San Miguel Canyon Road/Castroville Boulevard intersection. The project is set to be implemented in three phases and is designed to improve safety conditions on the roadways. [Read the story]

Las Lomas Bike Path CEQA Compliance

EMC completed an initial study, mitigated negative declaration, and CEQA noticing for this bike path project in unincorporated Monterey County. The proposed project boundary encompasses approximately 0.25 miles of Las Lomas Drive from the intersection of Hall Road to the intersection of Thomas Road. [Read the story]
