Teri Wissler Adam Promoted to
Senior Principal

EMC Planning Group is pleased to announce that Teri Wissler Adam has been promoted to Senior Principal. Since joining the team in 1991, Teri has played a vital role in the growth and success of the firm.

Teri's area of expertise is in California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance. She directs a wide-range of projects throughout California, both private and public, including residential and mixed-use projects, specific plans, general plans, roadways and bridges, and elementary school to college campus projects.

In addition to her contributions at EMC Planning Group, her professional achievements include the following:

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Moss Landing Community Plan EIR

EMC Planning Group was recently awarded a contract with the County of Monterey to prepare an EIR for the Moss Landing Community Plan update. The Community Plan update is part of the County’s local coastal program and will provide guidance for future development within the Moss Landing planning area. In addition to the Community Plan, the EIR will address master plans for the Moss Landing Marine Lab and the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute. The EIR will focus on the following environmental issues: traffic and transportation, impacts to sensitive marine and terrestrial plants and animals, water availability, agricultural resources, air quality and climate change, visual impacts, noise, cultural resources, and water quality.

Quinto Solar Photovoltaic EIR

EMC Planning Group is preparing an EIR for a proposed 110 megawatt solar photovoltaic (PV) electrical generating facility on approximately 1,000 acres in Merced County. The project is located on a combination of grazing land and agricultural land. Electricity generated by the project would be fed into the regional electrical grid at an interconnection point located within the project site. Key environmental issues include project consistency with County agricultural policies related to productive farmland, visual sensitivity given the site location near Interstate 5 – a state-designated scenic highway, and potential impacts on special-status plant and animal species.

Wetland Delineations and Permitting Assistance: East Boronda Road Widening and Salinas Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements

EMC Planning Group is preparing wetland delineations and assisting the City of Salinas with obtaining U.S. Army Corps of Engineer permits for two public improvement projects. The first project is the widening of East Boronda Road, which crosses Gabilan Creek. The second project includes facility improvements to the city’s wastewater treatment plant. The treatment plant is adjacent to the Salinas River and the proposed improvements have the potential to affect drainage ditches on site that contain standing water and emergent vegetation.
